Project64

Project64 is a Nintendo 64 emulator for Windows PCs. This emulator, which recreates the Nintendo 64 platform so that games can be played on Windows, is arguably the most stable and best working Nintendo 64 emulator out on the field.

Advantages of Project64:

  • Plays most N64 ROMs.
  • Great compatibility with today's devices.
  • Easy installation and use.
  • Powerful emulation engine.

Disadvantages of Project64:
None.

System Requirements
The requirements to be able to run Project64 (version 1.6) are:
  • Intel Pentium III, 800mhz or higher;
  • 128MB RAM or more
  • DirectX 7 compatible video card
These requirements are easy to meet for any modern computer. However, for smooth gameplay, one should opt for a computer with slightly higher specifications. Due to the nature of the development of version 1.7, these specifications are almost certain to rise with its release.

Cheat Codes
The current author of the Project 64 CHT file is Gent. Version 1.6 is formatted in AR/GC whereas v1.7 has taken a slightly different route into Xplorer64 formatting. v1.7 already has an AR/GC format produced and will be available shortly to beta testers and most likely with the next public binary release. The Co-founder, Mdkcheatz, of one of Project 64's main supporter's, Emucraze, has been given authorization from Gent to produce an advanced CHT support. He has made a simple guide to help those into understand the general gist of how cheat codes work.

Example
Above is a screenshot of an emulation (Super Mario 64). The entire scene has been rendered at a much higher resolution (1920x1080) than standard (320x240), and in a different aspect ratio (16:9 vs 4:3). There is a graphical glitch in the blue background at the top left. Sprites used for the interface (the word "TIME" for example), cannot be properly scaled to a different resolution, and are displayed incorrectly (black outline). Full-scene anti-aliasing can be used, as can be seen on the diagonal lines outlining Mario's hat.

Note: If you are planning to install a beta version of Angry German Kid vs Jovi, you don't need to download Project64. It comes with the emulator and some N64 roms, including, but not limited to, San Francisco Rush 2049, Super Mario 64 and Mario Party 3. But, feel free to download it.
